This apron Tudor style women's full apron was designed using the Tudor Style Apron pattern found at Sew4Home. The description is ..."Our two-part skirt is based on the Tudor fashion trend called "slashing." Both men's and women's clothing often featured long cuts in the outer surfaces, such as on doublets, sleeves and gowns, which allowed the contrasting colors of the linings beneath to be exposed." This apron features four complimentary fabric patterns. the featured pattern is a styalized Queen Elizabeth pattern that is fussy cut for the bodice. The bodice is framed with a pink and purple dot ruffle.
The double skirt consists of an overskirt in blue and purple flowered material and an underskirt with a multi colored feathered print. All four of the fabrics used are from a high quality quilt cotton line that was featured with this apron pattern.
Look closely at the skirt and you will see the pockets that perfectly blend in to the skirt. These pockets as well as the bodice are trimmed with a deep lavender piping.
This is a very different apron with its empire waist, ruffled and lined bodice, and two layered skirt. It is slightly longer than most aprons and the fit is forgiving as well as stylish.
I loved this pattern when I saw it and look forward to making many more of this style with an exciting mix of fabric patterns and colors.
